When the Pace Slows Down

Week six felt pretty similar to week five. It might just be that I’m working a nine to five now, and the weeks are starting to blend together.

• Rixida was a big part of this week, but I still can’t show any visuals for phase two.

• I went on a scavenger hunt for the legal and trademark team.

• I helped with some Collegiate Library branding.

• I worked on a Pathways and BYUI relationship document.

My main focus this week was going around campus and trying to find every instance where specific BYUI logos are being used. It’s trademark season, and in order to maintain our logos, we have to show them in use. We also have to be very specific in how we document that usage so we can retain legal rights and prevent others from using them incorrectly.

Most of my time was spent sketching, tracking down logos, and creating simple ideas to collaborate with the other design teams. Because the past couple of weeks have been slower, we’ve been sharing more long-term projects and taking our time to come up with stronger solutions. Right now, we have two or three larger projects that everyone is contributing to.
