(Slide from the Admissions Powerpoint)
I was a little too optimistic yesterday, but rarely does the sun set like it does in the movies. I finished up the PowerPoint today, and it felt like I wasn’t doing anything right. I had my designs and copy checked by several different people, but the client kept coming back with new changes. It felt like nothing I did was ever 100% correct.
Honestly, I felt like pulling my hair out. This should have been a simple design, but it wasn’t. I understand where the client is coming from. They have a vision, and they want it executed perfectly. It’s my job to deliver that.
I feel like I have a better understanding of other designers now. At the end of the day, it’s okay. Yes, it was frustrating, but I’m an adult and I can do my job. I found out later that there were some miscommunications between the project manager and the client.
Regardless of how I felt in the moment, I know I’m a good designer, and I appreciate the growth that came from this.
