Week eight felt more like Lady Gaga than Micheal Buble. A bad romance.
Rixida was a part of this week.
Easter window clings were cleaned up and finished.
I worked on wall art for the Hinckley.
I miss creative design. I miss experimenting with color and fonts. I miss the freedom of exploration. I have a lot hate relationship with corprate design. I wanted to have an internship that could give me relife experince and prepare me to enter the work force. My education has spoiled me. I've had too much fun with my degree that I wasn't prepared for the difficult part of designing with the same constraints every day. Everyday feels the same and I'm solving similar problems. I feel that I need a creative outlet outside of work. I though a job in graphic design was enough to scratch that creativity itch. I was wrong. I have started prioritizing creative hobbies outside of the office.
The main project this week was designing a 15'x10' wall. They handed me a sheet of paper and asked for a picture of President Gordon B. Hinckley in the same style as the library pictures. The attached image is version one. I was shown the ropes of how to create the effect and played with some type options. I don't like the picture used, so if I have any spare time I plan on giving a few more options with more flattering pictues. Ladies and gentlemen, if you design for a space it's important to try and walk the space. This is what the client asked for, but it's a lot of heavy blue for one area. Take pictures and make mock-ups when possible.
